The Anesthesiology Clinic of the University of Thessaly has achieved an international and highest distinction with its certification by the European Society of Anesthesiology and Intensive Care (ESAIC) as a European Center of Excellence in the Education of Anesthesiologists.

With this distinction, the Anesthesiology Clinic of the Larissa University General Hospital is the first center of excellence in education in Greece and one of 13 in Europe.

This highest distinction was achieved after a two-day visit to the Larissa University General Hospital by three representatives of the European Society who evaluated the organization and staff of the Anesthesiology Clinic, the training structure and the general organization of the Larissa University General Hospital.

Finally, this distinction comes to illuminate the difficult period we are going through due to the lack of anesthesiologists and to give the message that Greek anesthesiologists continue to offer the best to their patients, scientifically and clinically, laying a mortgage for the future with the excellent training of the younger ones colleagues.
