Dear colleagues,
The latest, ever-increasing knowledge regarding the scope and severity of the consequences of HPV infection requires that everyone be informed about prevention (HPV vaccine), early diagnosis through population screening (HPV test), and the detection and treatment of the diseases it causes.
Biomarkers are one of the most important links in the diagnostic chain of obstetric and gynecological diseases, they help in the selection of endoscopic treatment of gynecological diseases, personalized ovulation protocols and gynecological cancer treatment, as well as personalized monitoring of the pregnant woman.
As part of continuing medical education, the Obstetrics and Gynecology Clinic of the University of Thessaly, together with the Greek Women's Health Care Association (EFYGE), is organizing the ninth Conference on «"Latest Developments in HPV and Biomarkers in Obstetrics and Gynecology No. 9"».
The objectives of our Conference this year are:
- Keeping up to date with the latest data in the specialty (guidelines, evidence-based medicine) with the aim of improving safety and quality in our daily practice
- Training in modern techniques
- Meeting and exchanging views on controversial areas
- The opportunity for young doctors in the specialty to step up through their participation in Continuing Medical Education
Leading Obstetricians-Gynecologists will develop cervical cancer screening, colposcopic detection and the role of biomarkers in precancerous lesions of the cervix, endometrium and vagina and their treatment, updated treatment guidelines in gynecological oncology, topics in embryological medicine, endoscopic surgery and reproductive medicine. The goal is to teach younger colleagues and to refresh the knowledge of the most experienced and experts in the field. Distinguished Greek speakers will participate and it will be an excellent opportunity for exchange of views and social interaction.
We therefore invite all Obstetricians-Gynecologists, Pediatricians, Microbiologists, General Practitioners and the corresponding Specialists, Biologists, Researchers, all Health Professionals (Midwives, Nurses, Health Visitors), as well as all students to attend the Symposium.
Participation is free.
We hope that it will be a useful seminar for everyone and will contribute significantly to improving the services provided to our patients.
The Symposium will take place from September 12 to 13, 2025 at the "Hippocrates" Central Amphitheater of the Department of Medicine of the University of Thessaly.
