POSITION DESCRIPTION
The position advertised in the subject "Surgery" includes a wide range of cognitive subjects and fields and is a key pillar in the education and clinical practice of Medical students. Teaching includes the identification of symptoms, the search for clinical signs and the selection of appropriate diagnostic tests for the proper management of patients with surgical pathology, as well as all trauma emergencies, patients with acute abdomen and oncological patients, as well as their conservative or surgical treatment. Teaching is carried out with lectures from an amphitheater, mandatory clinical practice, supplementary electronic material in eclass and monitoring of surgical procedures. The lectures include presentations of the theoretical basis of surgical diseases in combination with the presentation of clinical cases as well as video presentations for better consolidation of knowledge. Clinical practice includes the development of skills for patient examination, differential diagnosis and consolidation of basic principles of surgical treatment, teaching how to manage emergencies as well as demonstrating therapeutic methods in the operating room. The position in the subject "Surgery" requires significant and long-term clinical experience in the spectrum of Surgery, mainly in a tertiary hospital, as well as many years of educational experience at both undergraduate and postgraduate levels. The position also requires significant and continuous research work in basic and clinical research. It also requires excellent knowledge of modern methods, laboratory and imaging techniques that, in combination with new technologies, are applied in the surgical treatment of patients with precision medicine.
