The Director of the Department of Surgery, Professor of Vascular Surgery, Mr. Miltiadis Matsagas, taking into account the provisions:

A. of article 54 of law 5094/2024 as amended by article 55 of law 4957/2022 (Clinic Director appointment procedure)

B.  of article 4 of PART B of JMD 123024/Ζ1/06-10-2022 of the Ministry of Education & Religious Affairs and the Ministry of Territory (Election Procedure for Directors of University Laboratories, Clinics and Museums) and of article 9 of PART C (Regulations regarding the electoral procedure - Competences of the Elections Body)

C. of chapter E of the Circular of the Ministry of Education & Religious Affairs with protocol number 119929/Ζ1/30.09.2022 (Issues related to the organization and operation of Sectors, University Laboratories, Clinics and Museums - Procedure for appointing Directors)

DECIDE

THE ANNOUNCEMENT OF ELECTIONS 

for the appointment of Director of

Clinic of Plastic, Reconstructive and Aesthetic Surgery

of the Department of Surgery

of the Department of Medicine of the School of Health Sciences

of the University of Thessaly

for a term of three (3) years.

 

The election will take place January 09, 2026, Friday, 10:00 to 14:00.

Those interested in the position of Director submit their application exclusively electronically at the email address g-tomeasxeirourgikis@uth.gr, until Wednesday, December 17, 2025. Candidates may resign from their candidacy by means of a written declaration up to the tenth day before the voting (related B). The resignation of the candidate shall be made exclusively electronically at the address g-tomeasxeirourgikis@uth.gr, which is addressed to the body to which the nomination is submitted in accordance with the above. Applications for nominations and resignations are recorded by the competent services of A.E.I., so that the date of their submission can be obtained.

The Director of the Sector is designated as the Election Conducting Body (ODB). The election will be held exclusively by electronic voting through the Special Information System ("ZEUS Digital Ballot Box") of the National Network of Technology and Research Infrastructures SA (https://zeus.grnet.gr), in accordance with the provisions of Ministerial Decision No. 147084/Ζ1/16.11.2021 (Government Gazette 5364/19.11.2021, Part B). Access to the above system is via the electronic address https://zeus.grnet.gr, under the supervision of the Director of the Sector.

The right to apply for the position of Director of the Clinic of Plastic, Reconstructive and Aesthetic Surgery is open to any full-time faculty member, at the rank of Professor or Associate Professor, who comes from the Clinic of Plastic, Reconstructive and Aesthetic Surgery and has the same or a related field of knowledge as that of the Clinic, provided that he/she does not leave the service due to reaching the maximum age limit during the advertised term of office, unless there is only one (1) faculty member serving in the clinic or if there are no other candidates. By decision of the Assembly, following the opinion of the Sector, a Professor or Associate Professor with less than three (3) years remaining until his retirement may apply for the position of Director of the first paragraph. Holding the position of Director of the university clinic is not incompatible with holding another position of a single-member administrative body of the Higher Educational Institution (HEI) or participating as a member in collective bodies of the HEI.

The Director of the University Clinic is elected by the person who receives the absolute majority of the valid votes of the members of the electoral body or at least one third (1/3) of the valid votes of the members of the special electoral body, if there is only one candidate. If there is a tie or no candidate received the absolute majority, the vote is repeated on the next working day between the candidates who received the same number of votes or occupied the first (1st) and second (2nd) places. In the event of a new infertile election process, this is repeated on the next working day, at which time the candidate who receives the relative majority of the valid votes is elected. If there is a tie, an electronic draw is carried out using the «ZEUS Digital Ballot» system between the candidates who received the same number of votes.

The electoral college is composed of all full-time and part-time faculty members, regardless of rank, including serving lecturers, who serve in the academic unit to which the clinic belongs (Department of Surgery) at the time of the elections, excluding those who are suspended or on unpaid leave in accordance with paragraph 2 of article 40 of Law 4957/2022, if the clinic is not self-sufficient.

The Director of the Sector checks whether the candidates meet the eligibility conditions, prepares a single ballot with all the candidates and supervises the conduct of the voting. It extracts the results, announces the elected Director and sends the election minutes to the Rector. The Rector issues a certificate of election, which is posted in the "DIAVGEIA" program.
