FOR SUBMISSION OF APPLICATIONS BY YOUNG SCIENTISTS WITH A DOCTORAL DEGREE IN THE FRAMEWORK OF IMPLEMENTATION OF THE ACTION "ACQUISITION OF ACADEMIC TEACHING EXPERIENCE BY YOUNG SCIENTISTS WITH A DOCTORAL DEGREE AT THE UNIVERSITY OF THESSALIA" IN THE ACADEMIC YEAR 2025-2026 

The Department of Medicine of the University of Thessaly, through the Special Research Funds Account in the context of the implementation of the Project included in the "Human Resources and Social Cohesion 2021-2027" Program (No. Call No. 108523/24.07.2024, code EKP30) entitled "Acquisition of Academic Teaching Experience for Young Scientists with a Doctorate at the University of Thessaly" (code MIS:6034651), which is co-financed by the European Union (European Social Fund (ESF+) and by National Resources, with the Special Research Funds Account of the University of Thessaly as the beneficiary.

Considering:

1. The provisions of Article 103 of the Constitution of Greece,
2. The provisions of Law 4957/2022 "New horizons in Higher Education Institutions: Strengthening the quality, functionality and connection of HEIs with society and other provisions", as in force,
3. The provisions of Law 5094/2024 "Strengthening the Public University framework for the operation of non-profit branches of foreign universities and other provisions",
4. The provisions of Law 4386/2016 "Regulations on research and other provisions", as in force,
5. The provisions of Law 4914/2022 on the management, control and implementation of development interventions for the programming period 2021-2027, as in force,
6. The Ministerial Decision No. 114947/29-11-2022 "National Eligibility Rules for the Expenditure of the Operations of the 2021-2027 Programs" (Law 4914/2022, art. 63, par. 20),
7. The Funding and Management Guide for the Special Research Funds Account (SRA) of the University of Thessaly,
8. The call with no. prot. 108523 and code EKP 30 (ADA: 9Μδ1Η-0Κ4), entitled "Lifelong learning actions in Higher Education (acquisition of academic teaching experience for young scientists holding a PhD)" for the submission of proposals to the "Human Resources and Social Cohesion" Program 2021-2027, which is co-financed by the European Social Fund,
9. The Decision under approval on the Inclusion of the Act "Acquisition of Academic Teaching Experience for Young Scientists with a Doctorate, for the academic year 2025-26 at the University of Thessaly", with OPS Code 6034651 in the "Human Resources and Social Cohesion" Program 2021-2027 in the "Human Resources and Social Cohesion" Program 2021-2027,
10. The decision of the Research Committee of the University of Thessaly dated 59/01.07.2025 (ADM: ΕΗ7Δ469Β7Ξ-ΛΚ3) regarding the acceptance and approval of the Call for Expression of Interest and the evaluation criteria and their scoring,
11. C 262/01/19.07.2016 Commission Notice on the concept of State aid as referred to in Article 107(1) of the Treaty on the Functioning of the European Union,
12. Commission Regulation (EU) No. 2023/2831/13.12.2023 on the application of Articles 107 and 108 of the Treaty on the Functioning of the European Union to de minimis aid granted to undertakings providing services of general economic interest,
13. With no. 115150/ΕΥΚΕ4023/02-11-2016 Circular of ΕΥΚΕ on the subject: «Instructions regarding the assessment of compliance with the criterion of compatibility of operations with the State Aid rules»,
14. The with no. prot. 99801/ΥΚΕ-ΧΕ1162/27-10-2023 Circular of ΥΚΕ-ΧΕ on the subject of "«Instructions to bodies involved in the management of co-financed actions during the 2021-2027 programming period regarding state aid issues» and
15. The implementation framework of the Project "Acquisition of academic teaching experience for young scientists holding a PhD at the University of Thessaly for the academic year 2025-2026", with MIS code 6034651, which is implemented within the framework of the Operational Program "Human Resources & Social Cohesion" (Call Code EKP30), and is co-financed by the European Union (European Social Fund (ESF)) and by National Resources, with Professor G.H. Fthenakis as the Institutional Responsible.

Young Scientists holding a Doctoral Degree to express interest in providing teaching work as tenured lecturers at the Department of Medicine of the University of Thessaly during the winter semester of the academic year 2025-2026, according to the attached Annex of positions, as approved by decision no. 326/27.06.2025 of the Senate of the University of Thessaly regarding the distribution of positions in the Departments of the Institution.

Interested individuals are invited to submit an application for the positions of tenured lecturers advertised in the Scientific Fields designated by the Department of Medicine of the University of Thessaly. Each beneficiary must independently teach all the courses designated in the specific Scientific Field and included in the Department's Curriculum, as described in Annex 6 of this call, taking into account the following conditions.

A. RIGHT TO NOMINATE

Right to Nominate has any natural person, domestic or foreign, who:

– Has received the doctoral degree within the last decade (with a date of successful defense of the thesis after 1^or January 2015) and has submitted his doctoral thesis to the National Archive of Doctoral Theses, if required in accordance with the provisions of Law 1566/1985 no. 70 par. 15. The date of receipt of the doctoral diploma is considered to be the date on which the doctoral thesis was successfully defended,

– Has a cumulative total of independent teaching experience at a university, after obtaining the doctoral degree, that does not exceed five (5) academic semesters,

– Does not hold the position of Professor Emeritus or retired faculty member of the relevant or another domestic or foreign university,

– Does not hold a position as a faculty member, a member of Special Educational Staff (SEP), a member of Laboratory Teaching Staff (EDIP) or a member of Special Technical Laboratory Staff (ETEP) of the HEIs or Collaborating Educational Staff (SEP) of the Hellenic Open University,

– Does not hold a position as a researcher or functional scientist in research and technological bodies of art. 13A of Law 4310/2014 and other research organizations,

– He is not a pensioner from the private or wider public sector,

– Does not hold an employee position with a Public Law or Private Law Indefinite Term relationship in public sector bodies, as defined in paragraph a) of paragraph 1 of article 14 of Law 4270/2014,

– Has not exceeded the age of sixty-seven (67),

– Does not have another active contract as a tenured lecturer for the winter semester of the academic year 2025-2026, from any funding source (as specified in par. 6 of article 173 of Law 4957/2022).

METHOD AND DEADLINE FOR SUBMITTING APPLICATIONS FOR EXPRESSION OF INTEREST:

The submission of applications and other supporting documents will be done exclusively online at the address electronic correspondence of the Secretariat of the Department of Medicine (g-med@med.uth.gr), with notification at the email address rc.gr.project@uth.gr until Monday, July 21, 2025, 1:00 p.m., and will receive a protocol number from the Secretariat of the Department of Medicine.

Interested parties who wish to submit additional documents or newer information to strengthen their candidacy must do so using the same methodology and method of submission as above.

Replacing the application or correcting it or supplementing it with any missing supporting documents is only permitted until the deadline for submitting applications.

If the candidacy is submitted in any way and by any means after the above date and time, it will be considered late and will not be evaluated..
