FUNCTIONAL ANATOMY-EMBIO-MECHANICS OF THE MUSCULOSKELETAL

Dear students,

in view of the beginning of the declarations for the elective course of the spring semester "Functional Anatomy-Biomechanics of the Musculoskeletal», we would like to inform you of the following:

The course is a basic introduction to the physiology and mechanics of the musculoskeletal system. The course material aims to understand the basic principles of mechanics and biology of the tissues of the musculoskeletal system and is a basic introduction for students to the courses of Orthopedic Traumatology and Orthopedic Pathology. Also, it refers to basic issues of manufacturing and use of Orthopedic implants.

In this sense, the course is the basis on which the student will rely for a full understanding of important issues of the Orthopedic specialty.

Finally, the aim of the course is for students to understand the importance of communication between Medical and Biomechanical science, which work together for the production and effective use of Orthopedic implants.

The course includes:

A. Lectures.

B. Attendance (optional) of surgeries related to the subject matter of the course.

To cover the course material, presentations are posted on eclass.

For the start date of the course, students who intend to attend the course please come on Wednesday, March 13, 2024 at 12.00 at the library "K. HOULIARAS" of the Orthopedic Clinic of the University of Thessaly (PGNL, 2nd ward, 3^o floor), to meet the person in charge of the course, Professor T. Karachalio, and to agree on the matter.

Finally, students who intend to attend the course, please also request their participation in the eclass of the course, in order to receive notes and updates.
