Welcome note

 Dear alumni

It is with great pleasure that we welcome you to the website of the Alumni Association of the Faculty of Medicine, Larissa.
As one of the earliest graduates of the Faculty of Medicine and having served as a faculty member of the Department for more than ten years, I have long held the belief that the establishment of an alumni association would help preserve the strong memories of our student years, strengthen the bonds among graduates, and create the conditions for the development of meaningful social and professional relationships among its members.
With these thoughts in mind, the Alumni Association of the Faculty of Medicine of Larissa was established in 2019. Today, it counts approximately 430 members and aspires to become an active link and a strong community—one that preserves the enduring connection between the cherished past of our student years and the shared future of all our graduates, including professional development and career advancement, scientific interests, and our common professional field.
On behalf of the Association, I warmly invite you to become members, so that we may seize the opportunity to reconnect, to engage once again in discussions on matters of common interest, to strengthen the bonds among alumni, and above all, to attract ALL graduates of the Faculty of Medicine of the University of Thessaly—our Faculty!

Purpose of the Association

The purpose of the Association is to foster networking among its alumni with the aim of promoting their scientific and professional development. In addition, the Association seeks to undertake initiatives related both to the strengthening and support of the Faculty of Medicine and to the preservation of the cultural and historical heritage of the Institution.
More specifically, the objectives of the Association include:

  1. The preservation, cultivation, and strengthening of relationships among graduates of the Faculty of Medicine of the University of Thessaly, with a view to the improvement, advancement, and promotion of the Faculty both within Greece and internationally.

  2. Facilitating alumni access to the labor market and providing opportunities for scientific, professional, and social collaboration.

  3. Creating opportunities for members to become better acquainted with one another, as well as with distinguished professionals in their respective fields, and fostering connections with members of other academic institutions.

  4. Keeping members informed about issues and developments related to the Faculty of Medicine of the University of Thessaly.

  5. Supporting, participating in, and implementing projects and initiatives of cultural, educational, research, or social character, in cooperation with public and private sector entities at national and international levels, while promoting interdisciplinary collaboration.

  6. Conferring honorary distinctions upon alumni in recognition of their achievements and contributions to science, culture, and society, during special ceremonies.

  7. Participating in initiatives aimed at safeguarding the University’s cultural heritage.

  8. Promoting and enhancing the visibility of the Faculty of Medicine of the University of Thessaly.
