We hereby inform you that, in accordance with paragraph 3 of Article 31 of Law 4452/2017 (Government Gazette A’ 17), it is stipulated that: “Undergraduate and postgraduate students, as well as doctoral candidates, who do not have any other medical, pharmaceutical, or hospital coverage, are entitled to full medical, pharmaceutical, and hospital care within the National Health System (NHS), with the relevant expenses covered by the National Organization for the Provision of Health Services (EOPYY), by analogy with Article 33 of Law 4368/2016 (Government Gazette A’ 83).”

Therefore, Health Care booklets will no longer be issued to uninsured students of the University of Thessaly, and we kindly ask those students who have received one in the past to return it to the Faculty Secretariat.

The issuance of the European Health Insurance Card (EHIC) for uninsured students travelling to European Union Member States and the European Economic Area (EEA) for educational purposes will be carried out by the Directorate of Student Welfare. Any expenses that may arise shall be covered by the University of Thessaly.

For the administration of EHIC the following documents are required:

1)    Application form

2)    Certification from the Office of International Relations specifying the period of mobility abroad.

3)    Photocopy of the Academic ID.
