EXTENSION OF INVITATION FOR EXPRESSION OF INTEREST
The Department of Medicine of the University of Thessaly invites interested parties to apply to attend the Postgraduate Studies Program (MPS) entitled: "Lower Abdomen, Pelvis and Perineum Surgery" for the academy year 2023-2024, which leads to the awarding of a Master's Degree (M.D.S.)
The Graduate Program "Lower Abdomen, Pelvis and Perineum Surgery" aims to provide a high level of specialized knowledge, clinical experience and research activity in its field "Lower Abdomen, Pelvis and Perineum Surgery". The purpose of the program is to provide up-to-date knowledge and personal clinical experience at a diagnostic and therapeutic level in the entire range of diseases of the Lower Abdomen, Minor Pelvis and Perineum. In the specific PMS, the theoretical and clinical education as well as the corresponding research activity results from the coordinated participation of three surgical specialties, Surgery, Gynecology and Urology with the parallel contribution of related specialties such as Gastroenterology, Oncology, Radiology, Pathological Anatomy, Radiotherapy, Orthopedics, etc. .
Basic objectives of the PMS "Lower Abdomen, Pelvis and Perineum Surgery" are:
- the training and specialization of young doctors in a wide and versatile subject of modern Surgery
- the provision of the necessary supplies, research conditions and tools that will lead to the production of new knowledge from the activities of the trainees
- the creation of specialized staff with the required clinical skills for successful careers in the private, public and academic sectors
- the preparation for postgraduate studies at doctoral level
The duration of the PMS studies is three (3) teaching semesters. The tuition fee of PMS amounts to 500 € per semester of study (total €1,500). The number of inductees is limited to a maximum of thirty-five (35).
Selection conditions
In P.M.S. : "Lower Abdomen, Pelvis and Perineum Surgery" are admitted as Postgraduate Students:
Graduates of Departments of Health Sciences Schools (Medicine, Nursing, Physiotherapy, Biochemistry, Biotechnology, Pharmacy, Biology), of the country or of recognized departments abroad,
Graduates of other related, with the subject of the Program, university departments and ATEI graduates of the corresponding subjects (Physiotherapy, Nursing, Biomedical Technology Engineering)
Graduates of other Departments and Schools of Higher Education, HEIs and TEIs of the country and abroad, who have at least two years of relevant professional experience, are established in their field, with proven time in the Pharmaceutical Industry and in Medical Technology and Biomedicine. Holders of a foreign degree must present the recognition of their degree by DOATAP.
The PMS courses "Lower Abdomen, Pelvis and Perineum Surgery" are scheduled to take place on Friday afternoon and Saturday for the convenience of working students, while there is also the possibility of teaching theoretical courses via distance learning, at a rate of 35% in accordance with the legal provisions.
The start of the P.M.S. it will take place in February 2024.
The selection of PMS students is made after evaluation of the following supporting documents, which will be sent to the Program Secretariat and electronically (e-mail: pelvic surgery@uth.Gr)
The supporting documents that candidates must submit are:
- Application form (available on the PMS website)
- Detailed curriculum vitae with details of the candidate's studies, research and professional experience (with the corresponding evidence).
3. Copy of diploma or degree or confirmation that the candidate is expected to graduate by the start day of the courses. In the case of graduates of foreign Universities, a certificate of recognition from DOATAP must be submitted.
- Copy of analytical grade.
- Certified photocopy of the police ID or passport.
- Two letters of recommendation from University teachers, researchers or eminent personalities
- Evidence of foreign languages (especially English).
8. Recent ID photo (attached to the application).
- Photocopy of both sides of the police ID
- Declaration of Law 1599/86 "that all supporting documents are exact copies of the originals".
