The Department of Medicine of the School of Health Sciences of the University of Thessaly announces the start of applications for the Master's Program (MSP) entitled: "Pancreatic Cancer – from A to Z" and in English: " MSc in Pancreatic Cancer– from A that Z " for the academic year 2024-2025. The program is governed by the Graduate Studies Regulations of the University of Thessaly.
The P.M.S. "Pancreatic Cancer - from A to Z" has as its mission to cultivate and promote, through academic and applied teaching and research, the high-level training of researchers and health professionals in the prevention, correct diagnosis and treatment of patients with pancreatic cancer.
The Postgraduate Studies Program (MSDP) awards a Postgraduate Diploma (DP) "Pancreatic Cancer – from A to Z".
In P.M.S. "Pancreatic Cancer – from A to Z" are accepted as Postgraduate Students
- graduates of Departments of the Schools of Health Sciences (Medicine, Nursing, Physiotherapy, Biochemistry and Biotechnology, Pharmacy, Biology), of the country or of recognized departments abroad,
- graduates of other university departments related to the subject of the Program and ATEI graduates of the corresponding subjects (Physiotherapy, Nursing, Biomedical Technology Engineering)
- Graduates of other Departments and Schools of Higher Education, HEIs and TEIs of the country and abroad, who have at least two years of relevant professional experience, are established in their field, with proven time in the Pharmaceutical Industry and in Medical Technology and Biomedicine. The academic recognition procedures of Article 304 of Law 4957/2022 apply to holders of foreign degrees.
The P.M.S. "Pancreatic Cancer - from A to Z" is structured in three (3) academic semesters, which include nine (9) theoretical courses and the preparation of a diploma thesis. The minimum duration for the completion of the program is three (3) academic semesters starting on February 2025. The total number of credits (ECTS) required to obtain the Master's Degree is 90 ECTS.
Successful completion of the program includes the attendance and examination of nine (9) compulsory courses and the preparation and presentation of a thesis. The courses and the corresponding credits/ECTS are defined according to the table below as follows:

The teaching takes place in nine (9) thematic units that are taught one each month lasting two days (Friday and Saturday). The evaluation of the trainees includes the preparation of a diploma thesis and written exams. The teaching language of P.M.S is Greek and/or English. The language of thesis preparation is both Greek and English. The Program of the P.M.S. is posted on the website of the P.M.S
The organization of the educational process of the P.M.S. it is carried out by living and/or using modern distance education methods in accordance with the provisions. The University of Thessaly has the logistical infrastructure to support distance learning study programs and the teaching staff has the appropriate digital skills.
Tuition/tuition fees at P.M.S. "Pancreatic Cancer - from A to Z" amount to three thousand euros (€3,000) for the entire duration of studies and are paid in three equal installments at the beginning of each semester.
The Evaluation Committee takes into account the special qualifications of the candidates, as they appear from the supporting documents submitted to the Secretariat of the P.M.S. and the performance of candidates during an oral interview.
The evaluation and selection process is described in detail in the Internal Operating Regulations, which are posted on the P.M.S. website.
The supporting documents that candidates must submit are:
- Printed participation application (at the Secretariat and on the PMS website).
- Detailed curriculum vitae with details of the candidate's studies, research and professional experience (according to the model you will find on the PMS website with the corresponding supporting documents).
- Copy of degree or certificate that the candidate has fulfilled his/her educational obligations. In the case of graduates of foreign universities, a certificate of recognition from DIKATSA-DOATAP must be submitted. The academic recognition procedures of article 304 of Law 4957/2022 apply to holders of foreign degrees and must provide proof of the place of study
- Copy of detailed score.
- Photocopy of the police ID or passport.
- Two letters of recommendation
- Scientific publications, distinctions and evidence of research activity (if any).
- Evidence of foreign languages (especially English).
- Evidence of professional experience
- Recent photo ID (to be attached to the application).
- Declaration of Law 1599/86 "that all supporting documents are exact copies of originals"
