BIOSTATISTICS AND CLINICAL BIOINFORMATION"

The Department of Medicine of the University of Thessaly announces the operation of a Postgraduate Studies Program (PSP) entitled "BIOMEDICAL RESEARCH METHODOLOGY, BIOSTATISTICS AND CLINICAL BIOINFORMATION" for the academic year 2025-2026, which leads to the award of a Postgraduate Diploma.
The PMS aims to provide a high level of education and expertise in biomedical and clinical research methodology, applied biostatistics and bioinformatics and prepares prospective postgraduate students for a professional career in an Academic/Research environment, in Informatics/Statistical Studies companies or in the Pharmaceutical Industry/ Biotechnology (as clinical research curators-CRAs, medical science coordinators-MSLs, medical consultants, IT technicians, database managers, data analysts, statistical and bioinformatics consultants).
The MSc provides theoretical and practical background for the Design, Conduct and Statistical Analysis of Clinical Studies, the Processing and Interpretation of Biomedical (and Genetic) Data, the Management of Biomedical Databases, and Decision Making based on Systematic Review and Meta-Analysis.
The following are admitted to the PMS: Holders of a degree from health sciences, positive, biological, economic, humanities, polytechnic or agricultural schools of universities of the country or corresponding recognized equivalent Institutions abroad. Graduates of TEI departments with related subjects are also accepted.
During the academic year 2025-2026, the possibility of distance learning is provided for three (3) of the ten (10) courses of the Program.
The duration of the postgraduate studies is one year, starting on 04/10/2025.
Interested postgraduate student candidates must submit their applications by September 5th to the Program Secretariat electronically at the following address: https://biomath.med.uth.gr/el/online-application-form (all documents compressed into a zip or rar file) the following supporting documents: 1) Participation Application (https://biomath.med.uth.gr/el/useful-forms), 2) Copy of Degree/Diploma, 3) Certificate of Detailed Grade Point Average (with exact GPA), 4) Detailed CV, 5) Scientific Publications/Distinctions (if any), 6) Evidence of professional experience (if any), 7) Additional qualifications (special seminars, studies, etc.), 8) Two letters of recommendation, 9) Two ID photos (after the candidate is selected), 10) Copy of police ID, 11) Evidence of knowledge of foreign languages. The evaluation of candidates will take place in two phases online: July 11 and September 12, 2025.
