"Prevention and Control of Clinically Serious Infections in Healthcare Facilities"

INVITATION FOR EXPRESSION OF INTEREST 

The Department of Medicine of the University of Thessaly invites interested parties to apply for the Postgraduate Program (M.S.) "Prevention and Control of Clinically Serious Infections in Healthcare Facilities" for the academic year 2024-2025. 

The postgraduate studies in the above P.M.S. lead to obtaining a Master's Degree "Prevention and Control of Clinically Serious Infections in Healthcare Facilities", after a course of 3 semesters, in Greek or English, which includes the attendance of postgraduate courses, the preparation of a diploma thesis and an internship, with a total of 90 credits (ECTS).

At PMS, graduates of Schools of Health Sciences and other Departments of local Universities or recognized equivalent Institutions abroad are accepted such as (Biologists, Chemists, Biochemists, Clinical Dietitians, Nutritionists, Physical Education Teachers, Educators, Physiotherapists, Psychologists or graduates of other related subjects) as well as and graduates of TEI Departments of a related subject. Graduates of HEIs and TEIs of other specialties are also accepted under conditions of additional criteria and consideration of proven professional and research experience related to the subject of the PMS, after a decision of the SE.

The selection process will be based on the application files and will be based on criteria such as degree level, knowledge of foreign languages (especially English), possession of other postgraduate degrees, professional and any research activity (publications in scientific journals, announcements at conferences ) the letters of recommendation, the relevance of the undergraduate (or other postgraduate) studies to the subject of the P.M.S as well as the relevant professional experience. In some cases candidates may be invited to a personal interview by members of the Graduate Student Selection Committee.

2. Βιογραφικό Σημείωμα with data on the applicant's studies, research and professional experience (there is a model on the PMS website http://www.med.uth.gr/mscpelmy/entypa/ -> Sample CV).

This should include:

a. Brief report of academic and research interests, which will include the reasons why the candidate is interested in the specific P.M.S.

b. List of scientific publications, if available.

c. Summary of the diploma or degree thesis, if such has been prepared by the candidate.

d. Evidence of professional experience, if any.

The supporting documents that candidates must submit are:

  1. Application for Participation (provided by the PMS Secretariat and from the relevant website).
  2. Curriculum vitae (curriculum vitae form (provided by the PMS Secretariat and from the relevant website).

This should include:

a. Brief report of academic and research interests, which will include the reasons why the candidate is interested in the specific P.M.S.

b. List of scientific publications, if available.

c. Summary of the diploma or degree thesis, if such has been prepared by the candidate.

d. Evidence of professional experience, if any.

  1. Copy of degree or certificate that the candidate has fulfilled his educational obligations.
  2. Transcript.
  3. Scientific publications, distinctions, evidence of professional or research activity (if any).
  4. Evidence of professional experience (if any).
  5. Photocopy of two sides of the police ID.
  6. Evidence of foreign languages.
  7. Two photo IDs.
  8. Δύο συστατικές επιστολές.

Η έναρξη των μαθημάτων του Π.Μ.Σ. θα γίνει τον Οκτώβριο του 2024. Τα μαθήματα πραγματοποιούνται δια ζώσης. Ωστόσο υποστηρίζεται η δυνατότητα διαδικτυακής διδασκαλίας. Οι καθηγητές του Π.Μ.Σ. έχουν την απαραίτητη εμπειρία και η ομάδα υποστήριξης τεχνικών θεμάτων έχει την επάρκεια διεξαγωγής διδασκαλίας εξ αποστάσεως.

The tuition fees amount to 700 euros for the first two semesters and 600 euros for the 3rd semester of studies. Tuition fees will be paid in installments in September and February of each academic year.
