The Department of Medicine of the School of Health Sciences of the University of Thessaly announces the start of applications for the academic year 2026-2027 for the Postgraduate Studies Program (PSP) entitled: «"Thrombosis and Antithrombotic Therapy"», which leads to the award of a corresponding Postgraduate Diploma (MPD) and is governed by the Postgraduate Studies Regulation of the University of Thessaly.

PMS «"Thrombosis and Antithrombotic Therapy"» Its mission is to cultivate and promote, through academic and applied teaching and research, the high-level education of researchers and health professionals in the preventive screening, diagnosis and treatment of thrombosis, as well as in the thorough knowledge of the various antithrombotic drugs, their use and the treatment of their complications. To provide its Graduates with the necessary equipment, which will ensure their excellent training for their academic scientific and research careers internationally.

Graduates of Medical Departments of the Schools of Health Sciences of domestic universities or of equivalent institutions abroad, as well as graduates of other university departments and former technical and vocational colleges related to the subject of the Program, are admitted as Postgraduate Students (MS) to the PMS.

The duration of studies for the award of the Postgraduate Diploma (PMD) is set at three (3) semesters, starting in February 2027. The tuition fees for the PMD are 1,000 euros for each of the first two semesters and 500 euros for the last/third semester.

Scholarships for the preparation of a Doctoral Thesis at the Department of Medicine of the University of Thessaly, are given to two (2) of the first five excellent students based on their grades, provided that they complete their studies normally at the end of the course of study in which they initially participated. The amount of the scholarship is €2,000.

Additional, scholarships related to publications are awarded annually to two (2) Postgraduate Students, whose MDE (part or all) is published (letter of acceptance) within one year of presentation, in a reputable scientific journal. The amount of each scholarship is €1,000.

To obtain the Postgraduate Diploma, students must accumulate 90 Credit Units (ECTS) in total, from attendance and examination, as well as from the preparation of a postgraduate thesis. Students must attend nine (9) compulsory courses. The Postgraduate Diploma courses are held once (1) per month on Friday afternoons and Saturdays. The courses are held both in person and using modern distance learning methods, in accordance with the legal provisions. Specifically, two (2) of the courses are held compulsorily in person in Larissa and the rest online. The language of instruction for the Postgraduate Diploma is Greek. The language of preparation of the thesis can be both Greek and English (upon relevant application).

The selection of students in the PMS is made after evaluation of the following supporting documents:
1. Participation Application (at the Secretariat and on the PMS website)
2. Detailed CV according to the template (at the Secretariat and on the PMS website)
3. Copy of diploma or certificate that the candidate has fulfilled his educational obligations. In the case of graduates of foreign universities, the provisions of article 304 of Law 4957/2022 apply.
4. Detailed Rating
5. Scientific publications, awards, and evidence of research activity (if any)
6. Evidence of professional experience (if any)
7. A letter of recommendation
8. Photocopy of both sides of the police ID card
9. Proof of English language proficiency is mandatory (or relevant certificate) and
other foreign languages optionally
10. One ID-type photo
