The Department of Medicine of the School of Health Sciences of the University of Thessaly, announces the start of applications for the academic year 2023-2024 of the Master's Program (MSC) entitled: "Ultrasound functional imaging for the prevention and diagnosis of vascular diseases", which leads in the awarding of the corresponding Master's Degree (MDS) and is governed by the Master's Degree Regulations of the University of Thessaly.

The Master's Program (MSP) has the mission of cultivating and promoting, through academic and applied teaching and research, the high-level training of researchers and health professionals in the preventive control, diagnosis and functional investigation of vascular diseases and post-interventional follow-up. It also provides its Graduates with the necessary supplies that will ensure their proper training for their academic, scientific and research careers internationally.

Graduates of the Departments of Medicine of the Schools of Health Sciences of the national HEIs or affiliated institutions abroad, as well as graduates of other university departments and HEIs related to the subject matter of the Program, are accepted as Postgraduate Students (MS) at the PMS.

The duration of studies for the awarding of the Postgraduate Studies Diploma (MPS) is defined in three (3) semesters, starting in October 2023. The tuition fees of the PMS amount to 3,000 euros (Semester 1: 1,000 euros, Semester 2: 1,000 euros, 3rd semester: 1,000 euros).

In order to obtain the Master's Degree, students must accumulate 90 Credit Units (ECTS) in total, from monitoring and examination as well as from the preparation of a postgraduate thesis. Students must attend nine (9) compulsory courses of which one (1) is chosen from the two (2) elective courses offered.

The PMS classes are held once a month on Friday afternoon and Saturday.  There is the possibility of teaching the theoretical courses through distance education in accordance with the legal provisions.

 

The teaching language of PMS is Greek and English. The language of thesis preparation is both Greek and English.

The selection of students in the PMS is made after evaluation of the following supporting documents:

 

1. Application for Candidacy (on the PMS website)

2. Detailed curriculum vitae (according to a model you will find in the FORMS section on the PMS website)

3. Copy of degree or certificate that the candidate has fulfilled his educational obligations. In the case of foreign university graduates, a certificate of recognition from DOATAP must be submitted

4. Copy of Analytical Score

5. Scientific publications, distinctions, and evidence of research activity (if any)

6. Evidence of professional experience (if any)

7. Two letters of recommendation (from employer or professor)

8. Photocopy of two sides of the police ID

9. Proof of knowledge of foreign languages officially translated

10. One photo ID
