Teaching Method:

Face to face

The course is organized into two parallel streams:

  1. Lectures, where the concepts and methodologies that form the core of the course material are analyzed.
  2. workshops (studios), where students: become familiar with methods and tools of creative thinking and analysis, consultation, synthesis of ideas and plans are organized into groups - with an emphasis on interdisciplinarity.

Evaluation Method:

Written Work and Public Presentation complete business idea.

Student evaluation is based largely on the group work carried out by students, while the final grade takes into account:

  • the written text of the work
  • the presentation of the work at the end of the semester
  • participation in laboratory courses
  • participation in course activities (lectures, seminars, etc.)

 

Focus, analysis of the problem, synthesis of the solution, collaboration and division of labor within the team, the integrity of the presentation, and the documentation of the arguments are evaluated.


Objective Objectives/Desired Results:

The aim of the course is to familiarize students with the contemporary social and economic reality of business and to develop corresponding creativity, communication and leadership skills. It is the basis for building the ability to identify business opportunities in everyday life, focus on social needs and create value based on their knowledge and their creative and critical ability.

Emphasis is placed more on the dynamic concepts of creativity and innovation, analysis and problem situations and synthesis of solutions, entrepreneurship, rather than on narrow business management. A critical element of this approach is the understanding of entrepreneurship and innovation as collective, interactive, socio-economic processes. Starting from the analysis of contemporary reality, the ability to investigate and synthesize radical, realistic solutions to contemporary problems is developed.

Course Description:The course focuses on issues related to:
• entrepreneurship and business,
• analysis of social needs and trends,
• exploring business opportunities,
• the role of innovation in the creation of the business venture,
• intellectual property,
• resource collection,
• development of business ideas,
• competition analysis,
• development of business partnerships,
• business models.
Students learn experientially by applying the method to the process from searching for and conceiving the business idea, to evaluating, changing it, and presenting it to potential partners and/or investors.
During the course, in addition to lectures:
• case studies are utilized which are the subject of presentation and discussion during the lectures,
• lectures are held by entrepreneurs,
• meetings are organized with mentors from the local business community. Students develop business plans in groups (4-6 members), with the advisory guidance and support of the support team or members of the business community.
Lectures and other course activities are supported by laboratory lessons, through which each group is given the opportunity to discuss its work and seek solutions to any problems it faces or specialized knowledge for specific aspects of its work.
