The training of students to acquire the required skills to be able to diagnose and treat Pulmonary diseases and urgent and life-threatening diseases of the Respiratory system in children.
Presentation of diseases of the Respiratory System in children, analysis of their pathophysiology, clinical presentation and treatment.
Presentation of acute and life-threatening symptoms and diseases of the Respiratory system, analysis of their pathophysiology and presentation of therapeutic options that must be implemented immediately, in order to prevent the risk to the child's life.
Students, utilizing the knowledge they will gain from attending the course, will acquire the ability to evaluate and treat these diseases, prevent risks to children's lives and avoid their potential complications.

COURSE CONTENT • Embryology, anatomy and histology of the respiratory tree, history and physical examination • Pathophysiology of respiratory diseases and lung function tests • Congenital respiratory system abnormalities • Laryngitis – Epiglottitis – Tracheitis • Foreign body aspiration • Bronchitis – Bronchiolitis • Bronchopulmonary dysplasia • Recurrent episodes of wheezing in preschool age - Inhalation medication delivery devices • Childhood asthma – Asthma exacerbation • Pneumonia - Complicated pneumonia Sleep-disordered breathing • Cystic fibrosis – Primary ciliary dyskinesia • Lung Imaging – Respiratory Failure
