The course material aims to understand and familiarize with the fundamental principles and techniques related to the recognition of different types of pain, the evaluation of pain intensity, the structured pharmacological and non-pharmacological approach and treatment, which all doctors, regardless of specialty, should be able to approach.

Finally, the learning goal is for students to understand the importance of the correct execution and assessment of the medical history, physical examination, symptoms and semiology and the corresponding skills required for proper clinical practice regarding the basic investigation and treatment of pain, as pain coexists with many comorbidities, affecting a very large percentage of the population, with economic and social implications, beyond the purely medical ones.

The students, after successful examination, they have proven knowledge and understanding of topics of the subject of ALGOLOGY AND PALLIATIVE CARE(PGSP). Skills and knowledge acquired are Level 6 (1stCycle of Studies) of the European Qualifications Framework (EQF).
