Objective Objectives/Desired Results: |
The content of the course aims to introduce students to the issues of normal and pathological hematopoiesis, to analyze hematological diseases and to understand the therapeutic procedures.
The ultimate goal of the course is the development of critical differential diagnostic thinking in hematological problems, which is accomplished through the process of problem-based learning
Upon successful completion of the course, the student will be able to:
• Knows the subject of hematology
• Understands normal and pathological hematopoiesis
• Can distinguish blood diseases
• Uses morphology, immunophenotyping and molecular techniques to diagnose blood diseases
• Analyzes all blood laboratory tests
• Develop critical DD thinking to solve a hematologic problem
General Skills
The course aims at the critical search, intelligent analysis and synthesis of laboratory and clinical data for the understanding of a hematological problem and for the appropriate therapeutic management.
At the same time, students will understand the new and classic laboratory technologies that guide diagnostic considerations and will be able to plan the laboratory investigation of intractable problems that are basically part of Pathology |
