ANNOUNCEMENT OF ELECTION PROCEEDINGS

for the nomination of the representative of the members

Laboratory Teaching Staff (E.D.I.P.) with his deputy at the General Assembly of the Sector of Basic and Applied Biomedical Sciences of the Department of Medicine, SEY, University of Thessaly

with an annual term from 01.09.2025 to 31.08.2026

The Director of the Department of Basic and Applied Biomedical Sciences, Professor Panagiotis Liakos, taking into account:

1. The provisions of articles 34, 40, 41, 412 and 413 of Law 4957/2022 (Government Gazette 141/21.07.2022).
2. The provisions of article 7 of CHAPTER B, of 123024/Z1/06.10.2022 Official Decree of the Ministers of Education and Religion and State "PROCEDURE FOR THE APPOINTMENT OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE TEACHING RESEARCH STAFF (D.E.P.), SPECIAL EDUCATIONAL STAFF (E.E.P.), LABORATORY TEACHING STAFF (E.D.P.) AND SPECIAL TECHNICAL LABORATORY STAFF (E.P.) T .E.P.) AND STUDENT REPRESENTATIVES" (Official Gazette 5220/t. B΄/07.10.2022),
3. On 119929/Z1/30.09.2022 circular of the Ministry Education "D. Establishment and operation of the collective bodies of the academic units of A.E.I. – Designation and operation of one-person bodies of academic units"
4. The provisions of article 192 of Law 4823/2021, "Upgrading the school, empowering teachers and other provisions" (A΄ 136).
5. No. 5204/11-11-2021 Ministerial Decision, "Operation of the ZEUS digital ballot box" (Β΄ 5244).
6. The Certifying Act of the Rector of the University of Thessaly on the subject: Election of Department Directors of the Department of Medicine of the School of Health Sciences of the University of Thessaly (AD: 9ΧΠΤ469Β7Ξ-ΑΧ3).
7. The provisions of articles 76, 77, 79 and 80 of Law 4727/2020 "Digital Governance (Incorporation into Greek Legislation of Directive (EU) 2016/2102 and Directive (EU) 2019/1024) Electronic Communications (Incorporation into Greek Law of Directive (EU) 2018/1972) and other provisions" (Α΄184)

He proclaims 

Elections on Monday, June 10, 2025, from 10:00 to 12:00 for the appointment of the representative of the members of the Laboratory Teaching Staff (E.D.I.P.) with his alternate at the General Assembly of the Sector of Basic and Applied Biomedical Sciences of the Department of Medicine, SEY, University of Thessaly, with an annual term from 01.09.2025 to 31.08.2026.

Interested candidates should submit their candidacy, with their application exclusively electronically at the email address enousiou@uth.gr, until Wednesday, May 14, 2025. Any candidate may resign from his/her candidacy. The resignation is made by written declaration, exclusively electronically to the email address enousiou@uth.gr, which is submitted to the competent body for the issuance of the notice in accordance with its terms and is immediately forwarded to the Elections Conducting Body (ODE), no later than the tenth day before the voting is held.

The elections will be held by universal, direct and secret voting, carried out exclusively electronically through the special information system called "ZEUS Digital Ballot" of the Greek public limited company, under the name "National Network of Technology and Research Infrastructures S.A. » (EDYTE S.A.), according to Official Gazette 5220/t.B΄/07.10.2022.

All members of the Faculty of Medicine who serve in the academic unit have the right to submit a candidacy for the position of representative to the General Assembly of the Basic and Applied Biomedical Sciences Sector, provided that they do not retire during the term for which the position is advertised and are not on unpaid leave or suspended from duty at the time of the elections.

The electoral body is composed of the members of the E.D.I.P. who serve in the Laboratories of the Department of Basic and Applied Biomedical Sciences.

The Elections Conducting Body (ECB) will be appointed after the deadline for submitting applications by electronic voting, in accordance with applicable legislation.

When voting, each voter may choose one (1) candidate. As representative of each category of staff, the one who collected the largest number of votes is elected, and as his deputy, the next candidate in order of preference.

The ODE Administrator checks whether the candidates meet the eligibility requirements, announces the candidates, prepares a single ballot with all the candidates and supervises the conduct of the vote. He extracts the results, announces the elected representative and sends the election minutes to the competent body.

In the event of a deadlock, this election process is repeated on the next working day, at which time the candidate who receives the relative majority of valid votes is elected. If there is a tie, an electronic draw is conducted using the "ZEUS Digital Ballot" system between the tied candidates.
