OFFICIALLY RECOGNITION BY THE MINISTRY OF HEALTH OF THE PATHOLOGY CLINIC OF THE UNIVERSITY OF THESSALIA AS A CENTER OF EXPERTISE FOR RARE AND COMPLEX DISEASES IN THE SUBJECT SECTION: "RARE AUTOIMMUNE DISEASES". INCLUDING AUTOIMMUNE HEPATITIS AND PRIMARY Biliary CHOLANGITIS.
The Pathology Clinic of the University of Thessaly (UT) of the University General Hospital of Larissa (PGNL) was officially recognized by the Ministry of Health after all the legal procedures and evaluations that lasted 15 months (5-8-2018 to 5-11-2019) having the undivided support of the Administration and the institutions of PGNL, as Center of Expertise for Rare and Complex Diseases, in the main thematic section: "Rare Autoimmune Liver Diseases" for the subtopics including Autoimmune Hepatitis and Primary Biliary Cholangitis (sub. No. Y.P.Sh./house 74273/October 21, 2019, Official Gazette Issue B΄4040/05.11.2019).
This official National recognition will strengthen the cooperation and networking of the PGNL through the Pathology Clinic of the University of Athens with other Centers of Expertise at a National, and especially European and International level as well as the further development of the already existing cooperation with associations of patients suffering from the diseases these, always with the ultimate goal of providing efficient and high-level medical care. The PGNL, through the Pathology Clinic of ΤΥ, has already submitted a complete file for its inclusion after inviting new members to participate in the already existing European Reference Network ERN Rare Liver which was announced by the European Commission in 2019 (deadline until November 30, 2019) having received the necessary certification (endorsement letter) from the Minister of Health Mr. V. Kikilia.
