Hygiene & Epidemiology Laboratory, Department of Medicine

15/02/2018-We are pleased to inform you that the Laboratory of Hygiene and Epidemiology of the Department of Medicine of the University of Thessaly has been re-designated as a Collaborating Centre of the World Health Organization by the Director of the Regional Office for Europe, Dr. Zsuzsanna Jakab. The Laboratory was first designated as a Collaborating Centre in 2014 and due to its significant contribution to the work of the WHO, its designation as a Collaborating Centre entitled «International Health Regulations: ports of entry» was extended for the next four years. It is noted that this is the first Collaborating Centre in the world on Public Health issues related to ports of entry (ports, airports, border posts) while the second was subsequently designated in China.
