Professor of Pathology George N. Dalekos, President of the

European Federation of Internal Medicine

At March 15-18, 2023 was carried out with great success in European Congress of Pathology of European Federation of Internal Medicine at the Athens Concert Hall. The event was held in collaboration with the Institute of Internal Medicine & Hepatology and Pathology Clinic & Homonymous Research Laboratory University of Thessaly.

Excellent speeches from world-renowned scientific authorities and interesting projects on current research activity in the field were presented during the Conference with great enthusiasm. European and international participation reaching 1,500 delegates.

During the Conference The Professor of Pathology of the Department of Medicine of the University of Thessaly, Mr. Georgios N. Dalekos, was elected President of the European Federation of Internal Medicine, Director of the Department of Pathology and the Homonymous Research Laboratory of the University of Thessaly, Center of Expertise for Autoimmune Liver Diseases, Full Member of the European Network ERN-Rare Liver.

This election recognizes and confirms once again at a European level, the continuous and long-standing dedication of Professor Mr. G. N. Dalekos to teaching, research and clinical work in the specialty of Pathology, a fact that honors the Medical School, the University of Thessaloniki, Greek Pathologists and our country.

On March 15-18, 2023, the European Congress of Internal Medicine of the European Federation of Internal Medicine was successfully held at the Athens Concert Hall. The event was organized in collaboration with the Department of Medicine and Research Laboratory of Internal Medicine of the University of Thessaly and the Institute of Internal Medicine & Hepatology.  

Excellent lectures from experts in Internal Medicine and interesting projects regarding current research activity in the field were presented during the Conference, with a large European and International participation that amounted to 1,500 attendees. 

During the congress, Professor George N. Dalekos, MD, PhD, FEFIM, FAASLD, Head of the Department of Medicine and the Research Laboratory of Internal Medicine, University of Thessaly, National Expertise Center of Greece in Autoimmune Liver Diseases, Full Member of the European Reference Network on Hepatological Diseases (ERN RARE-LIVER), General University Hospital of Larissa, Greece, was elected as President Elect of the European Federation of Internal Medicine.  

This election recognizes and reaffirms once again both at the National and European level, the continuous and long-standing dedication of Professor Dalekos to teaching, research, and clinical work in the specialty of Internal Medicine, which honors the Medical School of the University of Thessaly, the Greek Internists, and our country.
