An extremely honorable distinction for the Pharmacology laboratory was received by the laboratory's PhD candidate Mrs. Evangelia Sereti. Ms. Sereti was awarded the prize for the best posted presentation for her paper entitled "Sigma Receptors [sRs]: Study of their role in cancer and the development of new targeted anticancer therapies" in the context of the first Training School of the COST Action CM1407 held in September in Belgrade (COST ACTION CM1407 1^st Training School, Belgrade 24-26 September 2016).

Ms. Sereti, a graduate of the Department of Biological Applications and Technologies of the University of Ioannina and holder of a master's degree from PMS entitled "Organic Chemistry and Biochemistry" of the Department of Chemistry of the same University, has been preparing her Doctoral Thesis in the Pharmacology laboratory since 2013 under the supervision of Dr. N. Sakellaridis, K. Dima (University of Thessaly) and E. Iatrou (EKPA, Department of Chemistry).
