STUDENT EVALUATION

The assessment takes place through exams at the end of the term. The final assessment concerns the texts that have already been taught and delivered during the whole semester.

The assessment process of the course is in French language and students make a joint decision about the process during the first lessons.

In addition, students who couldn’t attend the course for specific reasons have the capacity to assign a written release project after communication with the course supervisor and under her supervision. The student and the supervisor agree on the topic.


Objective Objectives/Desired Results:

The aim of this course is the development of the basic language skills (listening – speaking comprehension, reading – reading comprehension, speaking production, writing production, language structure acquisition) and the study – dissemination of the French cultural elements.

With the successful completion of the course, students are able to:

Understand and use the sentence (syntax) and grammar structures of French language.

Understand words and common expressions in daily interactions with French- speaking students or academic staff.

Understand and pose simple questions concerning their daily routine.

Answer personal questions concerning their daily routine.

Describe themselves or someone else using simple phrases.

Understand simple written messages concerning the interaction with French- speaking colleagues in academic or/and social framework. 

Understand and use a basic vocabulary related to health.

Understand simple texts with medical content.

General Abilities

Development and improvement of language communication skills in French language as provided for the level A1/A2 by the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR).   

Development of the Internet use for searching, elaborating and composing data and information.

Development of the skill for independent work. 

Adaptation to new circumstances.

Development of the skill for team work.

Cultivation of the respect to diversity and multiculturalism.

 1st  Unit

Title: Do you know France?

Goals:

Discover the French language and French culture

Discover the similarities of French language with other language

Acquaint myself with the French accent

Discover French – speaking countries 

 2nd Unit

Title: Introduce myself

Goals:

Greet in a formal / informal occasion

Introduce myself – introduce somebody

Describe myself – describe somebody

Introduce the members of family

Meet a new person – give and ask personal information

Speak about my interests

3rd Unit

Title: The daily schedule

Goals:

Ask and tell the time

Know how to be placed in the daytime

Speak about my daily schedule

Ask someone about their daily schedule and make appointments

Understand the weekly timetable

4th Unit

Title: Free time.

Goals:

Speak about my free time and my hobbies

Ask someone about their free time

Make a proposal

Accept or deny a proposal

Ask and tell my opinion about a book, a movie…

Get informed about possible ways of sports for students

Meet the favorite activities of French people

Title:  the big moments of life / life affairs

Ask for service and buy things in a store (clothes, footwear…)

Know how to ask the price

Title: House – accommodation

Goals:

Describe a room or a flat

Search for possible accommodations in France through online ads

Communicate in French language with the residence officer of the university dormitory or with the owner of studio or apartment
