STUDENT EVALUATION

The final assessment takes place through written exam at the end of the term. The final assessment concerns the texts and terminology that have already been taught and delivered during the whole semester.

The assessment process of the course is in French language and students make a joint decision about the process during the first lessons.

In addition, students have the capacity to assign a written release project after communication with the course supervisor and under her supervision. The student and the supervisor agree on the topic.


Objective Objectives/Desired Results:

The aim of this course is:

  • The development of the proper language skills (vocabulary & grammatical – syntactic structures) for the basic French terminology comprehension on medical daily issues.
  • Understanding the meaning of medical terms based on the prefix, roots and suffix identification of a word.
  • Becoming acquainted with the terminology related to the basic anatomy of human body and its basic functions
  • Becoming acquainted with the basic medical terminology of Biology, Biochemistry and Physics.

With the successful completion of the course, students are able to:

  • Understand and use the syntactic and grammatical structures of French language.
  • Understand and use the basic vocabulary related to Health.
  • Comprehend simple texts of medical content.
  • Observe and are aware of the anatomic projection (charts) of different systems.
  • Understand the meaning of medical terms from the prefix, root and suffix identification of a word.

General Abilities

Development of the skill of well – formed observations

Development of the Internet use for searching, elaborating and composing data and information.

Development of the skill for independent work. 

Adaptation to new circumstances.

 1ST Unit

Title: A general presentation of human body

Goals:

Introduction to the course

Identify and familiarize with the prefix, root and suffix of a word

Observe and understand in an anatomic way a depiction of an organ or organism

Familiarize with the observation of an anatomic scheme

Learn medical French terminology related to a general presentation of human body

2nd Unit

Title: From the cell to organism

Goals:

Observe and comment on the anatomic projection of a cell

Learn medical French terminology related to cell anatomy and its basic functions

Understand or/and enrich the syntactic and grammatical structures of French language related to the subject

3rd Unit

Title: The circulatory system

Goals:

Observe and comment on the anatomic projection of the circulatory system

Learn medical French terminology related to the anatomy of circulatory system and its basic functions

Understand or/and enrich the syntactic and grammatical structures of French language related to the subject

4th  Unit

Title: The respiratory system

Goals:

Observe and comment on the anatomic projection of the respiratory system
