Objective Objectives/Desired Results:
  • The general purpose of the course is to introduce students to the basic principles of functional, plastic and reconstructive surgery of the head and neck area and to enable them to diagnose and treat surgical diseases of head and neck skin. Furthermore, the course seeks to provide students with the basic data for the treatment of traumatic injuries of the head and neck.
  • The specific objectives of the course are specialized in the following intended learning outcomes:

Upon successful completion of the course the student will be able to:

He will be able to use acquired knowledge in order to:

  • Diagnose the most common surgical diseases of neoplastic etiology of the skin of the head and neck.
  • Diagnose traumatic injuries of the head and neck
  • Get acquainted with the principles of initial treatment of head and neck trauma
  • Be trained in suturing wounds and the principles of key skin flaps
