Medical Department
The Department of Medicine was founded in 1985 and first accepted students in the academic year 1990-1991. It is the first Department in the development of the School of Health Sciences of the University of Thessaly, it has been autonomous since 1995 and operates in Larissa.
University Hospital
Larisa
The Larissa University General Hospital was founded with the P.D. 411/95 and started its operation on 27/9/99. It is located in the Mezourlos area of the city of Larissa, Larissa Prefecture, and occupies a building of 89,000 sq.m. on a plot of land of 150 sq.m.
Katsigra building
The historic Katsigra building in the center of the city is an annex of the Department of Medicine of the School of Health Sciences of the University of Thessaly. The building hosts the Laboratory of Embryology, Biomathematics and Hygiene & Epidemiology.
